Lisa Tetreault-Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Looking for a safe place to discuss your spiritual journey? I use Mindfulness and Energy Psychology to address past and present stressors. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Hypnotherapist, an EFT Tapping Therapist and an EMDR Therapist.  Although my office is located in Boca Raton, FL, I am 100% virtual. For those that can’t schedule during the week, I offer weekend hours. I accept most insurances and will negotiate a fee for service for those without insurance.  I have a post-modern view of therapy. I feel that the client is the expert of their own life and I am here to guide them.   I believe in the mind/body connection and incorporate my clients’ spiritual beliefs and Eastern philosophies when requested.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy facilitates changing the way you think and behave to improve the quality of your life.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing helps to dissipate negative feelings about past events. I call it the "button remover."

EFT

EFT (Emotional Freedom Therapy) also known as “Tapping,” is a brain based technique that works by stimulating energy points on the surface of the skin. This calms down the amygdala and helps the client to feel safe in their bodies

I found Lisa while searching for a local therapist who had experience with tapping and hypnosis. I was experiencing debilitating panic attacks and specifically looking for a therapist who was more out-of-the-box and willing to experiment to get me past this difficult period. Seven months later, I am a completely different person, and it is in large part due to her help. I cannot recommend her enough.

During our first session, when I was a complete emotional wreck, I distinctly remember thinking that Lisa emanated the calm, poised, and carefree presence of someone who has clearly done the inner work themselves. She emanated a deep sense of warmth and goodwill and compassion, and I felt completely safe and open- I did not feel any judgment whatsoever as I had with previous practitioners. I had tried various forms of therapy in the past, including CBT, ACT, and traditional psychotherapy, which were certainly useful at the time but were no longer sufficient in getting me to the next level of my evolution. I was not particularly in need of a passive sounding board, since I had close friends and family for that. Rather, I wanted someone who had a unique point of view, was no-nonsense, and challenged wrong beliefs liberally.

I found all of that in Lisa - she is a hawk when it comes to identifying and debunking intrusive thoughts and using emotional and spiritual tools to remember who we really are. "All problems are psychological, but all solutions are spiritual," and Lisa's combination approach was novel and inspiring to me. Interacting with her and observing how she models confident, courageous, and self-aware behavior with her unique flavor of individuality inspires me to keep being unapologetically vocal, loving but firm, and tuned into my authentic self.

I still cannot believe how much progress we made in just 7 months together. The old rackets and victim narratives are gone. Codependency gone. Decades-long PTSD gone. Panic attacks gone. With Lisa's help, I've learned to use gratitude and "what ifs" to work through difficult emotions and stabilize to reach higher states of consciousness. I've felt more contentment and joy and know that, in every moment, I have a choice: it is my greatest mission to remain finely aware of what I pay attention to... I have a newfound sense of connection and appreciation for my spirituality and the miracle of being alive. I can finally focus on connecting with my creativity and honing the self-knowledge and intuition I've gained to build the life of my dreams.

The shift is palpable to those around me, and Lisa is one of my secret weapons. I trust her unreservedly and know that even in my more careless moments, she will remind me to center myself and come from a loving place. She has a pure heart, a radiant smile, and a quick mind. She can tell from a mile away when you are entertaining old modes of being and will lovingly hold you accountable.

I highly recommend working with her and experiencing her unique approach for yourself. At best, you will experience some deep healing moving through you and transforming your life, like I did. At worst, you will learn tremendously from her inexhaustible wisdom and high-vibrational content. I continue to work with Lisa since I am now curious how much better my life can get. FAQ

The first meeting is usually an “assessment” ie questions to find out why you’ve come in and to decide on your “goals for therapy.”
Only you know if a therapist is a good fit but it is up to you to advocate for yourself and tell the therapist what you are hoping to get out of therapy. Some people just want to vent, others want more guidance and many want to learn coping skills and benefit from homework and reading suggestions.
Yes!  Telehealth sessions are now an option for my mental health counseling clients. These video sessions are being conducted on a HIPAA compliant platform and are secure and confidential.
